I'd like to spend a week in HK on my way to the hinterlands of China to teach. Any advice on "must see" places? My interests include just about everything. Would really like to get out on the water in some way. I'll be there mid-Aug, 3-Star budget, no hostels, no Gucci. TIA |

Mid August HK is very hot and humid - many people avoid the outdoors and stay in aircon. Make sure you bring shorts and lightweight gear. So the seaside is probably your best bet - places like Sai Kung, south Lantau island and Lamma island. |

Thanks Perilla, I'll look those places up. I'm coming from central Florida so hot and humid is a way of life. |
