|
|
I'm starting my first job in Oman soon, and I'm interested in working on a further TEFL qualification- DELTA or MA- part time while I'm working there. Can anyone recommend a good option for this? My aim is to have the option of moving up to a good uni job after my first two year contract.
Also, I have the opportunity to do IELTS examiner training before I leave my present location. Would this be a good idea? Is there examining work to be had in Muscat?
Any advice would be appreciated. |

There may not be any IELTS work to do, but it is always good to have the piece of paper.
My advice, if you want to stay in the Gulf, is to get an MA. The top employers want an MA rather than a DELTA.

The British Council in Muscat have IELTS examiners, that may be a good route for you.
If you are going to do your MA online, be careful who you choose as I know that the MoHE are very fussy about which Uni you study with and yes I agree with VS, go for an MA, especially as you can earn more.

Oh yeah... I forgot about that "minor" detail. Silly me!! Of course, an MA costs more upfront I would expect.

Are there any online MAs that you guys could recommend... or is it better just to check with the MoHE? |

You can do a DELTA here. There are two options - look on line and choose the one which would be best for you. You can do IELTS examining at the British Council. get in touch with them as soon as you arrive. Can earn you extra cash |
