So not entirely new to this; but this one is kinda complex:
Was on a Z til July 1. Then a summer camp got me an F for the month
of July
I have a job starting August 24, and can leave for HK right after the summer camp (July 27th) to get my new Z.
BUT, I dont think it will cover August.
So, remembering I will hold an F and be getting a Z, what to do for August?
Will they give me an L or what?
Thanks

you are on a Z visa or a Residence Permit for Foreigners in China till July 1st?

people need to be clear about this - oldtimers on here may think its being pedantic to bring it up, but it's one of the things that confuses newcomers to this forum when they read these posts.

Z visas expire 30 days after entering China. so you've got 30 days after that to start processing the residence permit. probably a good idea to show up at the school a week before those 30 days expire (or a week before your job actually starts) to get things moving (health check etc). you might ask your new employer when the admin/FAO staff show up to begin work after the summer as well, just to make sure someone is going to be there to actually do something for you (incl handing you keys to your apartment, if they're giving you one).

Better make it two weeks. This is the voice of experience.
