anyone gone through the fulbright english teaching assistant program? i'm looking at it as a more reliable/prestigious alternative to just showing up somwhere and finding a job. Not to mention having a certificate isn't a prerequisite. I'm looking at Turkey, and i've done some fairly extensive coursework in Turkish/Ottoman history that I might look impressive enough... |

I did the Fulbright ETA program in Italy during the 2007-08 school year. It was an excellent opportunity all around and I'd highly recommend it to anyone who is sincerely interested in teaching ESL/EFL but who comes from another field or is uncertified. I worked in two high schools and taught both English and American culture. It was fun and challenging...not to mention a pretty decent stipend If you're still interested, I'd be happy to answer questions based on my experience in bella Italia! |
