I'm teaching here in Sichuan, China and I was wondering what the going rate is for private lessons in this region. Any suggestions?

I personally wouldn't do it for less than 80. 100 is preferable. Any less than that and you're wasting your time.

P.S. Make sure you're allowed to do it first. Many contracts say you're not allowed to 'Moon light' "(I think that's the correct term!)

Of course, you have to be allowed to teach private lessons first, and my comments are based on that assumption.

There's a Chinese fellow called Raymond (who claims to be from Beijing, but his ID card shows he's from HK) who charges RMB200 per hour for teaching Mandarin (one-to-one) to foreigners in China!

As for your question as to how much to charge for private English lessons, it really depends on how many students you have in each session and how much they want to pay and how much you want to accept. I mean if you have 30 students, each one pays RMB5 for an hour of English, you get RMB150 for the hour.

I know of an American man who charged four Chinese lawyers RMB50 each in each session and got RMB200 for the hour.

Be careful not to price yourself out of the market.
