|
|
I have a question about a work/residency permit.
I understand that as an alternative to having the visa cancelled (at the airport) before leaving the country, it's perfectly possible to just leave (one goes through immigration without saying "I'm not returning) and the visa will then be automatically cancelled on its expiry date. This would seem to be perfectly possible.
However, I've heard that one cannot then return to Oman, on a tourist visa, until six months have elapsed from the date of cancellation of the visa.
I've also heard that returning on a tourist visa, as soon as one likes, is "absolutely no problem".
It's crucial for me to know the facts of this matter, so I'd appreciate reliable advice on this. |

You want official reliable advice? Talk to the ROP Visa Division.

You don't want to be fooling around with second hand advice on this issue. Do it the right/legal way. Don't screw around at any borders/frontiers unless you are just an extreme adventure seeker. |

It sounds like you are planning to abscond and come back for a different job?
Take care... I don't think it will work as described. jdl is correct that the ROP is the only one with the accurate answer.

If you leave without cancelling the visa and don't return to the job, you leave your sponsor with a visa place filled and a vacancy that remains that way until they go through hoops to cancel it and then have to get a new clearance.
When this happens, they may 'blacklist' you if you owe a baiza.
You can cancel the visa legally and then you are free to return.
Legal is best. |
