Does anyone here know where to shop for Android OS phones? The brand -- Motorola, Droid, Google, etc., -- isn't too important. New/used (though I'm looking for a good phone (not a 2nd-hand, possibly stolen one/knock-off off the street, for example). Any leads to stores where you've *actually seen these/ bought from* would be appreciated.
Also, does anybody use Android here? How well does google maps work in HCMC? |

I have a Motorola Milestone (same as Droid except GSM) and it works great get 3G. I have seen many android phones in stores but they are expensive. I even can use Google navigation on the phone. I have noticed that phones up here in Hanoi are cheaper than Saigon. At Metro (check in HCMC) they have my phone new for 10,000,000 same price I paid for it in Bangkok. Never seen one used for sale as most Viets could not afford and they love Nokia which have no Android phones |

Does anyone know about iphones? How do they work in HCMC? I have a contract with an American provider, but plan to switch when I arrive in Vietnam in September. Is that easily done? |

JB, I've seen a couple Android phones, but I'll keep that in mind as well. Although I think there's cdma here in the city, I think gsm is the way to go for traveling. But there are gsm android phones.... somewhere around here!
Brent: iPhones work here. They're all over the place. Unlock it at a shop and have fun. Data will eat through phone cards quickly; if you're like most people w/ a smart phone here, you'll use wi-fi a lot. |
