Hi Everyone,
Can i get some feedback to see if i am doing this right. My wife and i are moving in August to Saigon. I will be getting a 3 moth visa from the school and my wife.
I am not a teacher but have 9 years experiance in transport management and hold no degree.
I have a referance from my work stating that i have specialized skill and a manager.
My police criminal check
both have been noterized by my lawyer and stamped by the forgien and commenwealth office.
i have to get them stamped by the vietnamese embassey then translated in u.k or in Saigon ???
And i get a health check when i arrive in saigon
And then get a job !!
Can someone confirm that i am doing this the right way and any help/pointer would be great .
Cheers in advance

Sounds like you are doing it the right way, yes. No need to ask the embassy to translate it in the UK. Wait till you are in Saigon and you can get the stamp legalised first and then get it translated here. (Maybe though you might want to ask the VN Embassy in London to Legalise it as they might only recognise legalisation from the UK embassy in Vietnam)
Do the health check here and then all you have to do is find a school that is legal and is not just employing foreign teachers 'under the table'
Good luck and yes it is possible. |

Hopefully you only need to get each document stamped twice.
Once by the UK
Once by the Vietnamese
Then again anything is possible in Vietnam. (I can only go by my own experience) |

Tongs,
Can I ask how much you were charged by your solicitor? I need to get my degree and standard disclosure signed before August, the first solicitor I emailed has quoted 60. Does that sound about right to you?
Thanks. |

hi
It cost me 30 for 5 documents at my solicitors and then 28.80 per document at the forgein and commenwealth office.
If you use a solictor that u have used before it should be cheaper.
cheers

Thanks for that mate. I was thinking 60 for two documents was a little excessive. I've not had to use a solicitor before so I'll carry on looking for a cheaper option.
