We`ll be travelling up to Taipei by train next weekend and we`re looking for a cheap(less than 2000NT/night) hotel for two nights. Hopefully near the main train station, but other areas are OK.
Thanks |

Dear Libertarian,
I haven't been to this place for a long time (5 years), but it might still be decent.
Keyman's Hotel
Huai Ning Street, #1
(02) 2311-4811
$1560 a night
I just typed "Keyman Taipei" into Google and found the above info.
They used to run ads in that English monthly magazine "Taiwan," so that means they should speak some English (if that is an issue...)
Let us know what happens....
Sincerely,
Taylor

As you can see, if you type in those two key words into Google, LOTS of sites will appear.
Here is the address of Keyman's Hotel in Chinese, if you need to cut and paste it:
台北市懷寧街1號
The hotel's name (in Chinese) is the same as the street on which it is located. It sounds like "WHY---NEENG".
Best wishes.

I usually stay at the New Mayflower which is around $1000NT (over a year since I last stayed there) which is in the train station area...go to a bookshop and look at a lonely planet. |

Hello!! Try to ring up the First Hotel (on the Nan-King East Road section 2 on the coner of Nan-King East Road and Ge-lin road ) it is around 1500-2000 NT a night, you can walk to Taipei main station by foot (maybe 30 minutes) or take a bus for 5-10 minutes.... |
