My wife and I are 50 yrs old, both of us have our TESL 130 hour certificates. We have lots of business experience in North America including import / export business, however we don't have teaching experience.
The question is: Is there an oppertunity to teach English to business people or private folks or institutions. We can also advice on Marketing and other business dealings. We would first come on a 2 month trial this winter, long term after that. We have lots of experience travelling in Asia but never been to Vietnam
Are we dreaming or can it be done.
We would prefer country life over city life.

I agree, in a different way: your writing sucks. But it communicated everything you needed to say. That said, let's get down to brass tacks.

You might do very well teaching speaking and listening. Your age could work in your favor here, as there are many undependable youngsters coming through here. Straight up, you'd need a degree and a CELTA. If you have or can get these, you can live here by teaching English.

I know people who's writing and grammar sucks but they are so congenial and good at inspiring people to COMMUNICATE that they do fine (fine defined as being offered contracts with national banks). You may be able to do this. If so, then you need to meet some official, regulatory, prerequisites one way or another.

That said, I don't know what else you bring to the table; this country -- nor any country, for that matter -- won't say no to dollars. You can follow your destiny here if your destiny wants you here.

You're obviously early on in your research. Chew on that -- maybe visit here some more -- and see what you can come up with.
