I have both a drivers lic from home and a Japanese drivers licence. I am going to Europe this year and might be driving for a few days.

my question is; How hard is it to get a Japanese international drivers licence?

maybe one for you Glenski?

It is not hard at all. I'm going to get one myself later this week.

Contact the driver testing station near you. You'll probably have to bring a pair of photos (or take them there, 700 yen), your current J license, passport, inkan, and about 2650 yen for the application itself. Where I live, it's not an option to get it on the weekend, so I have to sacrifice a day of work. Takes about 1-1.5 hours, they said, but you have to get things started by 3pm or you can't get it done on the same day.

No, not Teine. I don't live in Sapporo anymore.
