Hello HK,
I've been a regular contributor in some other countries where I've worked and now I'm thinking about relocating to HK. Can you help me with some preliminary advice......
I'm 62 with a BA and CELTA and 10 years ESL experience teaching in the USA, Thailand, and Korea, almost all with adults. My fiance is a HK resident and we'll be getting married sometime in 2011. I'd like to relocate there but I'm not in a position to retire yet. If I come there (as opposed to sending out resumes from some remote location), do you think it is possible to find steady work, and by steady, I mean FT at one school with a salary of something close to 20,000 HK per month? or steady meaning split shifts at several schools? A language school is fine for me.
My biggest concern is my age and whether that will be a source of discrimination.
So......what do you think? If you need any more info, please let me know.
Thanks for your help |
