Maybe I missed it in the article, but it seems like most students are taking the money=don't think they will pass the exam=use the money somewhere else.
I have been in university classrooms in China where the teacher has stood in front of the class reading the answers for the students to write on their papers. Sad to think that people feel even accredited western programs are fair game for cheating.

I try to ignore how completely disconnected it seems like the academic atmosphere in this country has become from actual learning. It really makes me disgusted to think about it. |

I recently did my exams for my BA in Business. As part of the course we had students from multiple Universities in Europe who come over study a year, and then go home for more study. During these exams, they performed the most blatant/obvious cheating I'd ever seen in my life. Know why? Because they were paying higher fees to the Irish, and felt they were justified in doing so. Whats curious is that the Chinese students didn't cheat. I must admit that I did cheat a little for my Financial Management exam simply because I can't remember those pesky ratios.
There are generalizations everywhere it seems. |
