Hello -
I applied for and was accepted for a position teaching at the Oman College of Management and Technology last month. However, the person who hired me left and the one I was directed to rarely responds to emails. So, now I don't even know if I still have a job.
Any positions still available for a MA (in ELT) holder with many years of experience? I am getting worried as I expected to start work in Sept.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Do you have an idea of the status of your paperwork? Have they applied to the Ministry of Labor for a visa? If they have, it may block you from being able to get a job with another employer in Oman. I suggest that you call them.
I expect that with an MA, you are hoping to avoid the constantly hiring recruiters. The only direct hire employer that I know for sure is still hiring is the University of Nizwa. Of course, they are pretty inefficient too, so I don't know that they could get you there by September either.

I have submitted the forms as requested which were for the Ministry of Labor. I have no idea about the status as they don't answer emails. However, they were incomplete as I had some questions and the college hasn't responded. I have called, but received no answer on many occasions.
I wouldn't mind a recruiter if they could actually hire me within a reasonable amount of time. I'd like to be on the coast if possible. I have contacted TATI and Bahwan. Which other recruiters should I contact? I'm feeling a little desperate..
Thanks!

Dear Kyle,
Sent you a private message.
Do remember it is vacation time so many people are on summer time off, not necessarily lagging behind with their work. They are not there in flesh when you call them or email them.

Thanks for the help. I am hoping the problems are related to their vacation. I did call last night and I got a call back while I was sleeping. So, perhaps there are some signs of life after all.
I will follow up on the job links you sent in the mean time.
Take care & thanks!
