I am in no way, shape or form, shocked about the cheating. I went to Hong Kong International School, and it seemed like there wasn't a single local student who didn't pay his or her tutor to write his or her papers. It pissed me off when I was a middle schooler and my papers had to compete with papers that were actually written by college grads!
And when I went to Yonsei University KLI, and we were in the final term, the university administration withheld final grades for longer than usual, because, guess what, there was rampant cheating by the Chinese students! Their thesis papers contained many references to "uri nara" ("our country," a term used by Koreans), and had unusually good grammar and spelling...
IMHO anyone caught cheating on a major assignment should be expelled immediately without refund. When I catch a student cheating on a quiz, I give him or her a zero immediately and write a note to the parents in the communication book.
As for the tuition mentioned in this article, $1,200 - $1,400 FOR AN MBA? WHERE CAN I SIGN UP? |

| Good to see some place picking up and reporting on the level of cheating here. The uni my wife goes to has similar problems. The teachers are all aware the students cheat and basically nothing is done. I would say out of 40 students in a class, probably no more than 5 actually don't cheat on their tests. |

There's a number of major generic issues:
- Why isn't cheating better checked by university administrators when teachers know it is massive problem?
- Why have they let it become so rampant at their schools?
- Why are they so lax in dealing with it? |

| "A comprehensive exam or your money back?" "Uhh, I'll take the refund." Hahaha . . . . This story puts a smile on my face. Good to see the cheaters get bitch-smacked instead of rewarded. |

| They'll just go and do it somewhere else though. At the end of the day it is all about money. |
