|
|
Hey all! I was wondering if any of you lovely people have taught in Xalapa, VER and have any recommendations for reputable schools in this area (whether in Xalapa or any of the surrounding towns).
I am just about to receive my certification from ITTO (in Guadalajara) and am planning to make the move to Xalapa in a few days. I would like to start sending my CV out as soon as possible, but I am having trouble finding contacts for English language schools or private schools in the area.
I currently have a job offer at The American School of Veracruz (Colegio Americano de Veracruz). Does anyone know anything about this school? While this offer seems like a good one, I have personal reasons for working in Xalapa and would prefer to find work there.
Any guidance would be appreciated! |

I've been through and spent a few days in Xalapa. Cute town if a bit over Americanized.
I asked around about possible work but didn't have a whole lot of time to job search. What I did hear was that it was actually a small market for foreign English teachers. There's a large body of Graduate students in the town who are sometimes pretty capable in speaking English. They apparently pick up a lot of the hours for teaching English in the town (public and private).
If you hear differently, please let me know
I'm looking to return to Mexico from asia in the coming year or so and would love to teach anywhere in that part of Mexico. I'm wondering if you could pm the basic info on the University your going to?
Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions.
