Hi all.

On Sunday 20th November, jim_brava started a thread entitled something like Complex situation: What can I do?. He deleted the thread, so I can't link to it, but it looked like jim_brava was preparing walk into a dangerous situation. Has anybody heard from him since?

I've PMed him twice, on December 16th and January 13th, but he hasn't answered. He knows how to use the PM system.

If we can't confirm that he's OK, I want to gather all the information I can about him and contact the British Embassy.

Was that the guy that got screwed over by his boss and was kind of in no-man's land living in Korea despite all his stuff still being in Japan?

But also bear in mind that a large number of the people who post here only do so if and when they need help. It could just be that he is one of the many posters who comes here to ask questions with no intention of becoming a contributing member; once they get what they want, they disappear and only login into their account again if they wish to ask something further - nothing wrong with that; just saying it happens A LOT.

If I remember correctly, that guy was all rose tinited glasses and beer goggles and couldn't wait to return with tail wagging when that creep offered him a bone (and chided him for posting here) - likely why he deleted the thread.

Overall, his a***hole boss seemed just that; a regular a***hole, so I doubt there is anymore to worry about than you would with any other scum bag who takes advantage of naive newbies; possible financial ruin, deportation and a 10 year ban. I doubt he is going to end up in Tokyo Bay (or the Osaka equivalent)... that is unless you know something other than what he posted publicly?
