Under the guise of honestrecruiting, Shabaka is soliciting applications for female instructors to begin their postings at King Faisal University within a month.

There is not a snowball's chance in Hades that candidates will receive a legitimate employment entry visa within that time frame.

As has been indicated previously in various posts throughout this board, and in the national press, Al Shabaka Training sponsors illegal business visit visas. Every three months instructors scurry over to Bahrain for renewal.

Correspondingly, sponsorship of an iqama -- the temp residency card -- required for employment in Saudi Arabia, is seemingly a foreign concept to this "honest" agency.

Health insurance policies granted candidates without legit employment entry visas constitute insurance application fraud. Plenty of that from Shabaka Training over the past two years.

"PJ"'s collegiality with female instructors, also indicated in previous posts, leaves much to be desired.

I'd be sceptical of ANY recruiter who felt the need to use the word honest in its name.

Actually, they have to go in and out the Kingdom every month.

He's asking for a "recent photo" along with the resume--wonder what he wants those for.

PJ is doing that because he, his brother, and the (very few) renewals for this year scrutinize them first on their photos - I personally witnessed this numerous times, and any of the women who worked there last year would say the same. As I said before, saying "I'd do her" regarding even a MARRIED Western woman is about as low as you can go. PJ also said he wanted to make sure his employees weren't "fat" after his run-in with me. He has rehired a man with an Indiana conviction by using a California record check, where he lived later. PJ had the opportunity to have a great woman manager there this year, but he rejected her after renewing her contract because she wouldn't stand up for all the crud he was doing to the ladies as well as the way he treated many of the employees, myself included. The only positive thing is that evidently the PYP dean at KFU (another unsavory character) doesn't like PJ, and keeps a close watch on him.

Once again, don't repeat my mistake, coming over on a business visa. PJ will do that if it gets down to the wire and he doesn't have enough teachers.

Avoid this place if at all possible. I remember being told back in June that PJ could have his pick, as there were plenty of applications. Must not now be true, if he's still advertising.

Well, here's a photo of "PJ" without the speech bubble that says, "Hey, honest recruiter here, honest certificate there."

Doable?

Skill in speaking is universally recognized??? as a primary indicator of a persons knowledge and credibility???

First time I ever heard that. A load of crap. What has credibility to do with language ability? One could be the worst criminal, thief or tyrant ...yet...speak well....or one could not be able to speak so well yet be very knowledgeable.

It appears to me that PJ(honestrecruiting) is foolishly trying to be something he is not...noteably, a linguistic authority.

However, he can probably fool and impress the 3 brothers, who own Al Shabaka. Very Happy

Actually, that photo isn't PJ - it's the French-Canadian manager who himself has been guilty of insulting teachers when he loses his temper - as well as Saudis. I saw him slap an Indian driver on the side of the head for a minor traffic incident once, then curse at the Indian guard of our compound for not opening the gate fast enough when we arrived home from classes. He could, however, be kind and considerate at certain times. I think it was more external pressures in his life that causes him to snap when he thinks about them.

I hope you're making this up.

Dear lck,

If GladToBeFree were making it up, I'm sure he could do a lot better than that.
Unfortunately, what he described was, in my experience, not too uncommon behavior on the part of "white man burden" type expats (and, of course, just plain jerks.).

Regards,
John
