To those who live there what can you tell me about the city?
What is illegal there that is legal in America?
Is the cost of living high?
How is public transportation?

Any form of PDA (beyond holding hands) between men and women in public places.
You can get arrested for transporting alcohol w/out a permit in Sharjah (just transporting it)
Showing your middle finger to anyone will get you arrested if they call the police.

It is a massively large city... compared to what/where? And what type of lifestyle do you want... (ie need a brand new car, want to go out to the pubs/clubs every weekend? Drink like a fish?)

Not very good. But they do have public transit in the forms of the Metro, buses and even taxi's.
so again, compared to where? It is bad compared to places like NYC or Tokyo. But it is better than other places. The biggest issue is mainly dealing with the crowding and the temperature (depending on time of the year). |
