5 years or so of ESL experience in South Korea and China.
Bachelors of Anthropology from an American University.
Will be getting my CELTA next year.
What are my prospects of a job in Saudi Arabia? I'm 35, I want to maximize my income in ESL while working on a Masters Degree of some sort.
I'm not married, but given I've spent so much time alone in some fairly remote places in China I'm positive the scene in Saudi Arabia wouldn't beat me up too much for a year. Particularly if I had a reasonable spread of vacation time.
Thoughts? |

While I don't doubt that you could find a job of some sort in KSA, since you have neither a Master's nor a CELTA, the chances of your finding one which would allow you to 'maximise your income' and to have a 'reasonable spread' of holiday time are remote. The better jobs in KSA require you to have a Masters in a relevant subject. |

Yes, you pretty much have to get the CELTA and the Master's before you can maximize your income in KSA. With your current credentials, you are most likely to get offers from language schools and institutes, where you are almost guaranteed to come out with nothing but nightmarish memories at best.
However, to be fair, there are some "colleges" and technical institutes that will hire native speakers with no real academic credentials when they are desperate. I have yet to find anyone who had anything good to say about these places, but the income is a little higher.
When all is said and done, without credentials you are better off in China or Korea. Sorry to sound so negative, but I am just being straightforward with you. |

Never hurts to ask.. Are language schools really that bad in KSA? I've worked for them in South Korea and China and had some decent employments. |
