|
|
Hi! I am an inexperienced teacher (with TEFL certification) looking for a job in Mexico. I just got an email from a company called TeacherMexConnect that has tons of legit-sounding job listings in Mexico and South America (http://www.teachermexconnect.com ). They charge a $40 fee to join the site and apply for positions, and I wondered if it's worth it. Has anyone heard of this site or used them before? The jobs sound great, but I don't want to get ripped off. I also don't know how they got my email address, which seems a little sketchy. Any experiences or advice would be much appreciated! |

Key in teachermexconnect into the search feature up above...there have been lots of threads about over the last couple of years. Lots of good info there. |

Hi Guy,
Thanks! I tried that, but I'm not sure if I'm using the search correctly. I only got two results, and they both led to job posts, not forums. Is there a place where I can search forums? Sorry if this is a dumb question, I'm new to the site!
Thanks! |

The fourth link down on Guy's post - the funniest thread in the history of this forum.
On a broader note, it really does seem that if you have the money, the best way to do this is not through recruiters, but to just hit a city and start asking, at least if you're starting out anyway. |
