I've had some offers in China from a few different schools, but they basically all want me there by Sept. 1, which involves a crazy rush to take care of business here, an expensive last minute flight, and shortcuts on the visa process which I'm not entirely comfortable with. I mean, in theory I think I could do it, but this will be my first time working overseas, and I'd prefer to have everything go as smoothly as possible.
The obvious solution is to wait until the spring semester and try for something then, but that leaves the question of what the heck I'm supposed to do here in the US for the next several months. Or I could go for a private training school that hires year round, but I'd prefer to avoid that.
Oh well, I guess I'm just asking for any advice, recommendations, or experiences from anyone who's been in a similar situation. Would this last minute rush be too much for a newbie to bear? |
