I understand that if you have an Israeli stamp in your passport you can't come to Saudi Arabia for anything, work or play, but does it work the other way as well? If you have a Saudi stamp are you denied access to Israel? Is this one of those either/or situations? Just curious. I thought after I finished working in KSA that I might take a trip over to Jerusalem, will I possibly run into problems? |

I don't think you'd be automatically denied entry, but you'd very likely be subject to more stringent questioning and baggage checks, particularly if your passport showed evidence of travel to other Arab countries. |

Well, I advise you not to go to 'Israel' with a Saudi stamp on your passport. Because the Shabak will scan your passport, steal your identity, and produce a fake passport with your name and photo and use it to do their dirty business as they did in UAE, then you will be blacklisted with the Interpol and your life will be hell! |

Here's the summary answer... most of the time, probably nothing will happen beyond a few questions. If your interrogator has had a bad day or if you appear to have an attitude, things can go very badly and you may not get in at all.
Use common sense... be your politest self... and chances are they will just stamp you in...

Would UAE have a problem with it as well? I would like to see several places in the Middle East before I move onto Europe. It sounds like I should leave Israel as the last on the list, hit the other countries and then catch Israel on my way out. That's rather annoying but I guess it's politics and religions mixing things up. |

I'd imagine they have more of a problem with klownish Israeli hitmen on fake Irish, British and German passports murdering people in their hotel rooms. |

An American I know just moved from Saudi to volunteer in Palestine.
They questioned him for 6 hours at the border closest to Amman and the West Bank but he got through.
If you are Muslim or Arab looking expect to be questioned maybe for hours.
My advice is go through Jordan to Aqaba and cross over into Eliat. If you are not arab or muslim they won't question you at all.
And you do not get a stamp in your passport. Tell them you are working in Saudi and both sides will give you a paper. Jordan gives you a white one they stamp and Israel a pink one.
Keep those and get them stamped on your exit. Throw them away and wala no evidence of your Israeli visit.
I can only speak of the hassle free crossover through the aqaba/eliat walkover border (takes like 20 or 30 min depending on how many people are ahead of you).
Can't say the same for the borders near or on the west bank. This is crossing over through Jordan. |

The solution to your problem has already been posted above with the two slips of paper. MOD edit
It is a safe bet that no Arab/Muslim nation will allow you to cross its borders with an Israeli stamp in your passport. While it is tacitly accepted that Israel has money, and the Arabs have stuff that they need, it simply wouldn't do to accept a visitor to the former as a visitor to the latter. To many a common mind, that would be tantamount to sympathy for the devil. In short, it would upset the natives and contradict everything they have been told their entire lives.
But, it is undesirable to mix money and religion. Qatar sells gas to Israel via a third party. I used to live two doors down from the Israeli trade mission in Qatar. No proud flags flying, obviously, but their security was slicker than a silent shadow. I was DJing at a friend's party once and a guy I'd never met before came up to speak to me like I was an old friend. "Hey! How you doing?" he said.
I quietly wracked my brain, wondering who the hell this guy was. I had to admit defeat. "Sorry, I'm sure we've met before but I can't remember..."
"Oh, that's OK! I'm one of the security guys at the Israeli embassy. Where's your car gone? You've been cycling a lot recently, haven't you?"
Oh....kaaay.

Well, I suppose not - I've never tested the theory. Anything I've ever read on the subject has been from guide books, which informed what I wrote.
I suppose if there has been a change in policy anywhere outside of Jordan or Israel's immediate neighbours, they would have no more reason to advertise the fact than they would to publicly promote closer trade relations. |
