Hello everyone,

I am planning to come to Japan on a working holiday visa, which enables me to come to Japan to work for a year.

I am CELTA qualified and have previously worked for an eikaiwa in Japan for one year. Though I left Japan at the end of March and unfortunately and most stupidly I didn't get the re-entry stamp to be able to return on my specialist in humanities visa.

I want to be able to come to Japan and find employment as a full time English teacher as quickly as possible. At the moment my best strategy is to go to Osaka, stay in a guest house there and actively look for work around the Kansai area.

I am open to living anywhere in Japan, though preferably not Tokyo. My question is: Do any of you have a better solution for finding a full time teaching position from landing in Japan with a working holiday visa?

I also wanted to ask about the timing. I am planning to come in the first week of September, is this a good time of year for employment opportunities?

September is a fair time, depending on location. There is a small spurt of hires for October start dates. Cutting out Tokyo cuts out a large percentage of potential jobs, so deal with the rest as best you can. WHV means you can start immediately, and you can also take PT work that newcomers without a WHV can't take. Use that to your advantage.
