For more advanced adults, I use newscasts, parts of documentaries, and movie clips. For more advanced teenagers, I use TV shows. But what do you use for lower-level students. Do you use real programs with pre-intermediate students? It can be more interesting, inspiring, and relevant for them if they're not completely lost. Do you use DVDs from books? A lot of books offer accompanying DVDs. They're of course slower and more staged, but it concentrates on the target language from the matching sections in the book and, with optional subtitles and worksheets, really cuts down on the work for students.
Any preferences out there? |
