Hi everyone

I am a new grad from London, have also finished TEFL course, been offered a teaching post twice, but both times the agencies said you MUST have a british passport then we can take you.....

can any one give me another way or agency who doesnt have that or a employer who doesnt have that. I have been living in London since i was 15 and been through all the school ranks from high school to uni.....

Thanks people...

What is your immigration status in UK?
How come you have been living in London since you were 15 and do not hold a British passport, or at least holding the permanent visa?
I think something is missing in your equation!

The missing equation is.....I grew up in Holland, hence have a Dutch passport...

even thought when i emailed the Saudi embassy in Den Haag. They told me its simple tell the employers to send your visa for dutch citizen and you can pick it up in London.

But the question is, are there any agencies who have a freedom in their visa issuing powers......

So far Skyline Global, and Arabian Education Training Group AKA 'AETG' have offered me a spot but couldn't process it due to my Dutch passport ......

So what does one do in this predicament....

Agencies don't issue visas. Neither do employers. The only people with the power to issue work visas are the officials at the Ministry of Labour in Riyadh. That said, some employers have more influence at the Ministry than others. In my experience, the better universities can get visas for people of just about any nationality. It's usually smaller, less established places who specify that EFL teachers have to be from an English speaking country.

Hi everyone

can anyone advise me and others who are in the same boat stuck with an EU Passport?????

Who to apply to?

Does applying from within help?

if so, what are the ways to do that?

Is there more leniencies with direct hire if youre qualified but have a Dutch passport like me???

are there any Direct hire places up for grabs at this late notice???

Thank you everyone for putting your input......(this is not only for me but many who have a EU passport)
