Hey everyone,
I am new to this site (I have only been surfing it for a month).
My classmates at my CELTA program recommended I get on, and I have been spending days reading posts for hours. The stuff you all have posted on here is incredibly helpful.
Having just finished my CELTA, I will be flying out to Istanbul in a couple of weeks to try my luck hitting the pavement to find a job. I think this might be the best way to do this because after sending out over 50 e-mails with very few replies it seems to me that they would just prefer I be there in person for an interview. Well, we'll see how that turns out...
Would any ESL/EFL teachers already in Istanbul be free to get a cup of coffee or something on the weekend of the 23rd and the 24th of this month?
I read the MOD's rules for personal conduct, and I do not see this fitting under something not allowed. However, if it does, I am sorry. I thought this was a good place to be a resource for ESL/EFL Students and Teachers. I think that having some local teachers meet up to talk about their experiences and give advice would be a good way to do that. It is much different when you meet someone in person as opposed to postings on a forum.
Well, if anyone is interested, you can post a reply or PM me. Either works for me. |
