I used to eat there quite often but it was so long ago that I can't even remember what street it was on. What I can tell you is that every Korean in the city congregates there. Also, there is a Korean market next door. I think the wife runs the restaurant and the husband, the market.

Southern end of Olaya near the Holiday Inn and Computer Souk is one called Korean Palace. Fairly good place. |

K, I hope I haven't got my embassies or consulates mixed up when I describe this but if I have you can look on a map of Al Hamra and see what embassies are situated a few blocks behind the Sofitel to the left....
It is not on a side street off Palastine but it is not to far away. If you are starting at the US embassy drive away from the sea past Soloman Fakeer Hospital and turn left just after Al Hamra Sofitel.
Drive up that road and then you will turn left onto a the road where the Iranian Embassy (I hope it is the Iranian one but I am not sure... there is an embassy/consulate landmark) is situated.
Drive just past it and turn left on the side road. You should see a small hospital a few blocks (2 or 3) on your left.
After the hospital turn left. A few houses (maybe 3) you will find the restaurant. It is a double story house and the gate should be open.
If you are taking a taxi just tell them to go to the Iranian Embassy in Al Hamra and then direct them from there.
I am really bad with directions. Wish I could be of more help!
I had the phone number coz I got lost but I don't have the number now. I will try get it for you. Much easier if you can phone the restaurant..

Yeah, ya know, I've been Google Earthing the area and the villas are indistinguable from each other from space. All I can say is that i'f yer going down Falesteen Street from the confusing flyover towards the sea, it's back in that neighborhood off to the right. If you've got the time and resources to go toolin' back there looking, look for the Hangul and you'll find it. It's in a walled compound (but, then again, what isn't?).

I am on my blackberry if someone could look up the Iranian embassy/consulate in Jeddah to see if it is the correct one that would help.
There is not a big Korean sign on the house or anything.
There are two places which my friends and I struggled to find. The Italian club (which hosts film festivals etc) and the Korean restaurant.
Still don't know how to get to the Italian club!
I'm gonna miss Jeddah! Even though I didn't live on a compound I got to visit most of the compounds and got to go to events like the film festival, SA freedom day party.
Also got to go to meetings at the British consuate and hung out on a few of the private beaches. Not to mention bowling, quad biking, trying out differennt restuarants, hanging out at shisha cafes and shopping!
You can actually have fun in Saudi! Life is what you make of it doesn't matter where you are!

Yeah, the sign's not big and it AIN'T on the street beckonin'yer attention. It's a smaller type attached to the grocery within the compound, but they leave the gates wide open (or did) and if you can recognize Hangul, then you'll understand what it is.
For what it's worth...not too many walled villas keep their gates open lest you get a glimpse of the women folk...

P.s.- lb, you seem awful proud of yer BlackBerry! |

In South Africa a lot of people who have a cellphone contract have one or are getting one... It's the norm here so nope not proud at all...
In fact I prefer using a pc but it costs me $8 a month to use the internet on the blackberry.
;ust felt bad coz I should have looked on google earth and. I often make errors due to the tiny keys.
Do you call a double story house with a wall a compound? In my country we just call it a house with a wall...
What do you mean by grocery? |

Unless they've removed it (which I doubt), as yer lookin' into the compound from the gate, the restaurant (two-story) is on the right, the grocery (one- story) is on the left with a driveway going between the two.
If this is not like the one you know of, they've either moved (which I doubt) or there's another Korean restaurant in Jeddah now. Is the one yer referring to off of Falesteen?
When I refer to a 'compound" in this case, I'm referring to a family compound which consists of the main villa and some outlayin' structures within a walled area...I can see how the wording can seem confusing as walled residential areas are also referred to a "compound".
