Hi all, apologize if this is been covered but I ran a search on this and the only thread I found had no responses...

I just arrived in HCMC a few days ago and it's time to get some insurance coverage (I've had a close call on one of the xe oms already!)

I understand there are some brokers in town that deal with this sort of thing for expats and the like.

Any recommendations? And on that note, what is you guys' medical clinic of choice? I've found Family Medical Practice Vietnam, and it looks pretty legit, though perhaps spendy.

Look forward to your wordly wisdom and thanks for reading! Wink

In case anyone else is interested...

I answered my own question today by taking a walk to that clinic in Diamond Plaza. They gave me a card of local broker with this web address

www.insuranceinvietnam.com

Hope this helps someone else out

Motorbike taxis. Literally "vehicle hug" because people are known to hug them, most likely from terror rather than affection.

In a city of 4 million motorbikes, close calls are... how can I say it... another day at the office.

Actually, if you want a first-person perspective go to 3:48

That's a pretty tame ride, actually.

I have seen that video. Your blog has been very interesting and helpful in gaining an understanding of what like will be like in Vietnam. Although, I am sure I will be smacked in the face the moment I step off the plane. Thanks!

LOL. The airport experience. You'll go back to the 70's inside and then welcomed by a thousand anxious faces when you walk out.

Try FV Hospital in D7, I believe they have an in-house insurance policy. In comparison, superior service overall but not without some problems.
