Has anyone ever done it?
My invitation letter just specifies I need to collect my visa in "Thailand". Would this cover the consulate in CM also, or is the reply going to be "Sorry Mistah, no can" and send me back to Bangkok? Is it naive to assume anyone can give me a reliable answer? Thanks anyhow. |

yes, got mine in chiang mai 18 months ago. i was on a non-immigrant
student visa at the time. (noone asked, but i assume they checked.)
'thailand' covers any embassy or consulate in the country.
if you've got all your paperwork in order, go in the morning. expect
all of five minutes to submit your application. return in a few days,
wait five minutes, pay for visa and collect your passport.
fifteen minutes walk along the moat will get you to maharaj nakorn
hospital. just north of the big intersection of suthep road at the
moat is the east entrance to the hospital compound where you will
find a family clinic that can fill out your medical exam form. |
