This info might be too late or I must be late for this but I still want to share to those who never read this.
Join this survey ( http://www.china-tesol.org ) and be heard. If you think you are underpaid, find out in this website, too, the standard salary that everyone should be receiving (of course, depends on qualification).
This site is very informative (I don't know if this site, too, is helpful---I mean the people working behind this site) . Too bad, I just learned it now. |

Helpful for whom? A teacher or a recruiter?

Taking bets a teacher didn't write that.
As well, it states that a 5,000 RMB salary equates to
before adding extras including lower taxes, paid-for housing, and airfare.
If I make that much in the U.S. even after taxes, I most likely will be able to afford to purchase a car and home and travel to Disney World should I choose. Do not infer that I mean 5,000 RMB per month is unfair for 20 teaching hours a week, but they are deliberately misleading people. Local teachers here often make a lot of extra money teaching on the side. As well, their housing is provided for them too. Haven't met any who own a car yet. But many of the administrators do. Guess that tells you who is getting the money. |

US$ 7.255 = approx. RMB 60.000;
divided by 12 + RMB 5.000 a month. |

Though I have never used their recruitment services I've found the people at China-TESOL very friendly and helpful. I have only been in touch with them since I started work here (via ChinaTEFL.com) and they know I am very happy in this job and will not be needing their services in the future. I did however have a few little contract problems and they gave me clear and extensive advice on where both the school and I stand, as I didn't know who else to ask.
Sure they recruit, but their job is much bigger than that. I was quite happy to fill in the survey form upon request (though anonymously).

I know of a few people who have used this agency and have had no problems at all - they will quite happily sort out any problems you may be having with the school. I don't know of anyone who has complained that they have been placed in a bad school. |
