Does it work? Has anybody tried it? Or without an introduction would it be just a big waste of time? Does anyone know what the language protocol in applying would be (English? Japanese? Both?)?
Everyone knows that getting hired by the BOE directly means a higher salary but how does one get hired directly?
I once got a good part-time ALT position directly from the school. That was NOT good pay (mostly I did it for PR and research), but I definitely needed an introduction.
A friend of mine just left his ALT position in Kyushu to go back to Ireland. I wonder who filled it? I can't find any positions at all available in Kyushu though I'm certain that people have quit. I'm also certain that there are a lot of non-native speakers of English doing ALT positions in Kyushu.
Any advice other than Fukuoka Now and Rainbow Plaza would be great... |
