Was the celebration as big as everyone thought it would be or bigger?? Or smaller, more calm?

I live right in the middle of things in Mexico City (near Reforma and the Angel), so my point-of-view may be a bit skewed, but it looked to me like lots of people showed up for the parades and concerts, and the atmosphere was happy and peaceful.

I watched the Mexico City parade, concerts and fireworks and light show on TV. It was better than I expected. It was wonderfully creative; I admit I wasn't expecting something so varied and ingenious.

I found it busy but pretty calm along Reforma near the Angel in the late afternoon. There was a clear police presence and a lot more road closures and controlled access points in Zona Rosa toward Reforma than I've ever seen before, so I guess the numbers of people were more controlled.

I've found some videos of the events of last night. I especially enjoyed the one in which the creators of the various sections of the parade talk the ideas and emotions that inspired their contributions.
