Greetings. Does anyone have first-hand information based on experience in working at Oxford in Guatemala City? I'm considering a teaching job there and would like to know any pros or cons related to any academic or administrative aspects of the job. I'd also welcome an update on safety and security issues related to living in Guatemala City.

Don't know about the job, but security is Guatemala City is bad, you are basically on your own if you have a problem. You aren't safe anywhere, ot in a taxi, not in a bus, not even walking down the street. Violent crime is rampant. I lived in Guatemala City for a year, and have many friends there still, and they all tell me not to visit, some of the stories they tell are quite frightening, and, hey, I live in Mexico City, I do't frighten easily.
