Anyone know what happened with the above site? I used it to keep an eye on teaching ads, flat prices, rental prices etc but now it's been replaced with some kind of ebay site?! The latter is fine for people that want to sell hardware, physical items and so on but no use for teachers looking for work.

What are the best sites now for teaching ads, flat buys and rentals?

Have a look at this earlier thread.

http://forums.eslcafe.com/job/viewtopic.php?t=83835&sid=29a66cbee52a12e4ca509b17432aaa47

It explains the problem a bit. It isn't available in some countries. I've just checked and I still have access though here.

I also posted a way to get round it which also still works.

Yep thanks, I saw the other post at the time but I was in Turkey then and it worked perfectly well there so it seems to be blocked in some countries but not others.

I'm a little bit bemused as to why it's blocked: it's wrong for someone in Yorkshire to see an ad for a sex worker in Bilbao even though they'll never go there and use it but okay for someone in Bilbao to see the same ad?! Very logical!

Worth noting that Loquo is plagued by scammers. If you see (for example) Barcelona accommodation that sounds too good to be true, you're about to get ripped off.

That's true: significantly underpriced accommodation will either be a scam or will have some other issue - bad area far from the centre, troublesome neighbours, cockroach infested flat etc.
