I am coming to Tokyo in September on a three month tourist visa. If I like Tokyo as much as I expect I will, my plan is to try and find work and stay for some time, a couple years or more.
I have a BA in English Lit, and a CELTA certificate. Could anyone tell me what are my chances of finding work teaching English in Tokyo? |

I always feel like Jimmy the Greek with questions like this.
Tokyo has the biggest population.
September is just before a minor starting point in October.
You meet minimum requirements for a work visa and job.
Go from there. Competition is steep now. Any time after October starts will be downhill in the way of opportunities until late January. |

OK thank you for your help. Sounds basically like, yes it's possible, but by no means easy. |

that's where a lot of the work is but your rent will be nearly double in the Tokyo area versus living in a more rural location or smaller city. |
