Hi,

Having considered things and done my research, I've decided that working in a University is the way to go. Is there anything in particular I need to know about and does anyone have any suggestions about the best places to apply to? Also, I'm not going to be able to go to China until the end of July; is this going to be a problem in terms of getting a job?

Thanks

Richard

The first question is too vague; as for the second one: the universities will hire in July or after, for the new term that begins in September.
THus you have more time to make a very careful choice.

Working for a Uni is the easy way to go. Try to get more info about on or off campus housing. If it is on-campus, what time is the curfue? are there any rules against visitors? etc....

think of the basic questions because they do matter.

I agree working with a uni is often the best way to go. You can always work on the side if you feel you need more money. Make sure you talk to some of the current teachers.

Best places to reply to ...way to vague. You have to decide what kind of place you like, mostly what kind of climate, ot what sort of activity. Then e-mail a bunch od schools in the area, come in July to meet in person, see the school, with some definite places that will hire you.... but you may not be able to move in until mid/ late August

BUT - DO NOT RELY ON THE WEBSITE - take the time and money to come and look. and meet people. July there are still people on campus. August - everyone is gone. if you apply over the net, ask for the e-mail of teachers who are there, AND, who have left.
enjoy the exploring.
