2 questions.

I am currently in South Korea without a job and am wanting to teach in Taiwan. Has anyone had experience just flying to Taiwan and getting a job over there? I have an interview scheduled, it's stupid because it is an in person interview, but it's not certain I will get the job. What I'm wondering is what are the chances that I can go there and get a job? I know that for South Korea the visa process was a *beep*, I'm not sure how Taiwan is.

Second question, other than eslcafe.com, what sites are best for finding jobs in Taiwan in particular?

1. What city are you going to in Taiwan?

2. How old are you?

3. Do you have a BA?

4. What country are you from?

5. Are you male or female?

6. Are you white?

7 Etc.

(These things do matter)

Most jobs in Taiwan are found in person. Sometimes you will simple get a job because you are in Taiwan and they needed someone yesterday.

I flew from Seoul to Taipei and got a job. Arrived here at the start of March had interviews and demos for 2 weeks at about 6 or 7 different places. By the end of March I was working in a job I was happy with. Make sure you go to the Taiwan economic and cultural affairs office near Gwanghwamun to get your visitors visa. Finding a place to live is easy as is changing your visitors visa to a working visa. Good Luck.

And when applying for you 60 day visa do not mention that you are going to Taiwan to find a job.
