Hi all,

This is my second year working in a Montana technical high school w/juniors and seniors as a paraprofessional/assistant teacher.

@16hr I shadow kids all day and assist them with any tasks that they might need help with. Enforcing safety regs in the shop and occasionally writing kids up rounds out the majority of my job duties. Its a very easy and boring job.

Anyhow, can this classroom experience be dressed up and/or accounted for when a job posting asks for a little experience?

This is what I have on my resume:

BILLINGS PUBLIC SCHOOLS (www.billingsschools.org) 2009-Present
Paraprofessional
Supervised and managed students in a vocational high school.
Implemented and coordinated behavioral and lesson plans.
Maintained safety regulations while assisting students with course projects

Any input would be appreciated!

Thanks

I, too, served as a paraprofessional a million years ago. I don't think it's going to help much on an ESL/EFL resume....not if you're applying for positions where the person reading the resume actually knows what you're talking about....

No idea what you guys are on about. I know some Kafkaz paramilitaries who need to brush up on their English so as to make a few ransom videos or so. Any help?

I think its best if they don't really. Just get them where they can say "Gives us the money or we gives them the chops" Keep the accent and the s. It adds to the bad guy appeal.

"I'll be back."

Remember that? It's all the Terminator needed.

True, but these boys ain't appealing. As the saying goes, they aren't making threats, they are just carrying them out...

Of course. It is teaching experience. It certainly can't hurt! I always include my history as a music and mathematics instructor.
