I realize it is new, (only one day) but how do think that the new Visa fees for Canadian nationals will affect those CDN teachers living and working
in Oman with a alien registration card visiting, UAE, Abu Dubai?
Does this mean that the Cannucks have to dish out $250 every
time they want to carpool or fly across to UAE for a quick
gettaway? Anyone have an insight? DM

I believe that those Canadians with a valid GCC RP can get a regular visa for about 135 dirhams. I also think that Emirates and Etihad can arrange visas for a discounted rate - check their websites.

Write DFAIT and the PMO in Canada and voice a complaint (if you have one) on the stupidity of their line in the stand stance on landing rights.
