I'm TESOL certified with 3 years experience teaching overseas with NO degree. Regardless of having no degree I have managed to work in some good schools with good wages, and maybe it's down to luck or my personality ; )

Have returned to London and my next step is to do either the DELTA or TESOL dip. This is in order to higher my chances in finding work in London.

My questions are:

1- from an ESL employer, which qualification is more desirable, DELTA/Diploma/others?

2- with my qualifications and experience (including the DELTA/Dip), but with no degree, what are my chances/options working in London?

Any advise is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I wouldn't differentiate between the Delta and the Dip.TESOL.

The British Council accreditation scheme requires that normally any teaching staff hold a degree. If you have one of the above qualifications, you might find that a school will query your lack of degree. However, they can write a rationale for your employment. This is stated in the Accreditation Handbook 2010-11 on page 25 under criterion T1.

Perhaps you might need to rely on luck or your personality to encourage a prospective DoS to write the rationale. It will definitely help you if you have the Delta/Dip.
