After this year I will have taught English in Korea for a year and I have a BA and I will be 26. I know that being at least 26 is mandatory to teach in Indonesia but will it be a problem since I do not have a celta or any other type of teaching certificate? |

I didn't know that you had to be 26 to teach there. What's the logic behind that? As for the certs, for visas, I've never seen them required. Degrees, however, are often the norm.
Did you check out the job board? |

You have a degree (since you have an E2) so you are good to go.
A degree and a US passport means you can legally teach English (work visa and work permits) anywhere outside the EU and North America.
A TESOL cert (to obtain a visa) is not a requirement (legally) if you have a degree even though an employer may request one (TESOL) as an employment requirement.

Yes you must be 26 for visa regulations but it seems like all require a celta? Does anyone know of ESL jobs in Indonesia where a celta is not needed? |

Everyone requests a CELTA (or other BRAND NAME of TESOL certificate) because a DEGREE is not a requirement for the visa application.
IF you have a degree (and in your case-classroom experience) then you do NOT need a CELTA to land a job or get a visa teaching ESL in Indonesia.

I was 25 when I started teaching in Indo, plenty of others I knew were younger. No idea where this over-26 stuff came from. |
