I have an interview coming up with these guys, but can't seem to find any information on the anywhere, other than their website. Can anyone here give me any information about them? They're offering $3000USD/month, 30 days paid vacation, free housing, medical and flights. Not being in KSA at the moment, this looks like it might be the best offer I'll get to go there with a B.A., three years' experience and a CELTA. Any information would be helpful. |

Who on earth are 'plan it productions'?
You say we can find out about them on their website, but the only website I found by that name was a company who plan weddings and other social events! |

Couldn't find any info about jobs in Saudi Arabia. All I could see was an ad for "Japanes" speaking wine consultants!
So while I don't know anything about this particular outfit, if you've read any of the relevant threads on this board you will know to be very cautious when it comes to taking a job via a recruiter. When that recruiter does not specialise in ESL and is unknown in the Kingdom, you should be doubly cautious. |

"We have English Teaching Positions for Saudi Arabia!"
Nothing ends in saudi arabia with an exclamation point except the slamming of the gaol-house door...

The fact that it's a recruiter doesn't necessarily bother me. There are, after all, reputable recruiters out there. That no one has heard of them, though, has me concerned. I'm going to go ahead with the interview and see if they'll tell me who the job is with in KSA, and if I can contact that company directly or speak to one of their teachers. |

Yet again... There are plenty of gripes on this board that suggest many were / are indeed bothered by using a recruiter.
Why would you choose to go with a recruiter?
They are just middle men. Their sole purpose is to take a cut of your salary.
Reputable recruiters? Sorry for laughing, but this is just too funny!
If you are serious about working in KSA -DO NOT USE- recruiters. Apply directly with the college or university. |

thank you, cmp45, i really hadn't heard enough harping against recruiters on these forums. the actual job will be with KSU or najran u. i'd appreciate any information on the latter (do they pay on time? do they honor contract stipulations? do they communicate well? etc.) |

What I'd really like to know, is how companies like Plan It or whatever actually manage to get these contracts?
It cannot be based on track record, as who has ever heard of them before?
And, looking at the lousy standards of English on their site, it certainly isn't linguistic brilliance. Is the operation even run by a native-speaker? Well, judging from some native-speakers I've met teaching in the Gulf, sadly, yes, it could be! |

I've been doing lots of reading on these forums, but there are bits of specific information that I'm not finding, particularly anything relating to najran u. if you aren't interested in answering the specific questions I have, you don't have to. No one has a gun to your head.
What I have learned is that 1) Recruiters can be a bad way of getting to KSA, so be very careful, 2) KSU is a hell-hole, stay away, and 3) whingeing is a common leisure activity among expats in KSA. |

No. But, if you closely at my avatar, I have one to yers...
Try this:
1. Go to the top of the page.
2. Look for the "Search" link.
3. Click on it.
4. When the "Search" box comes up...type "najran" in the keyword search field.
5. Step back and revel in the glory of search engines on the internets.
6. I suggest "The Dead Monkey (part 1)" as a decent start. Najran is a nothing "city" stuck somewhere between al-Nowhere and Yemen. They've recently had a war going on there against Yemeni rebels.
