An acquaintance reports to me that he now teaching for some Oil Company in Cameroon. earning 1000 Euros a month and having shared accommodation - must be a shock to his system after a "real job" in Saudi Arabia.

Said acquaintance assures me he is deliriously happy - and is in fact not with some fatcat oil company but working for a hole-in-corner Language School.
For some reason beyond my understanding he is too shy to post here himself. |

Having been in Saudi he might be afraid of the sort of cutting ridicule that one expects on the Saudi branch?

The point is to let people know that there are jobs in Cameroon. I am not sure what point the Nigerian Whisper is trying to make. Does he not have 419 mails to compose ? |

Actually your OP would tend to suggest that jobs in Cameroon are not 'real' jobs. So why would anyone be interested?
Oh......and I'm a caucasion Brit having worked in Nigeria.
A 'real' job. |

hahahhaha! That makes me laugh!
You have no experience of either and yet feel qualified to comment.
1000 Euro in Cameroon compared to an average of 3000 tax free in Nigeria along with free housing, utilities and a car with driver.
Yeah....right. Have a good prosperous career mate. |

A large bank account does not mean a better quality of life.

No doubt true...............although you may wish to reflect on that in your 40's and 50's.
Been there mate. Zimbabwe, SA, Botswana, Cameroon, Gambia, Nigeria, Darfur (until the Janjaweed started running amok)
Quality of life? You need to be THERE before you can post about it mate. Just living in KT does not qualify you.
Abuja is pretty cool by the way. Good infrastructure, lots of western amenities and some seriously HOT gals. |

Somehow I doubt it.
Considering the vast differences in culture between South, North, East and West.........from Lagos to the Delta, to Kaduna and Jos..............the differences are huge and impact on how you see Nigeria.
So where were you and what did you do there?
Waka.......ok? |
