Greetings everyone,
I came across this link on David Paul's site about an online distance learning course to earn an MA in either TEFL/TESL or. Applied Linguistics:
http://www.davidenglishhouse.com/en/distance/birmingham/
I wonder, has anyone benefited from this course? Have any of you had any regrets about taking this course?
I ask because I assume that after working in an eikaiwa (like I am) for several years, one would consider the possibility of working either FT or PT in a university. |

I don't know whether distance MAs are viewed more or less favourably than in-person courses, but having one is definitely viewed more favourably than not, and Birmingham is a very well-regarded university for its Linguistics and applied linguistics MA programs. |

I agree with the poster above. Also, it depends on the employer/country. I received my MATEFL through the University of Reading and it allowed me to acquire my current position in the US.

I knew a few people who did online graduate degrees and landed university positions, so they can be beneficial. |
