|
|
Hi, I just finished interviewing with AEON. I've heard if you made it to the second interview you are pretty much in. Does anyone know the truth to this? Also I hear it's really hard to move to Japan without a visa lately and get sponsorship (I'm from the U.S. and have a free place to stay) is this true? Thanks |

Yes, it's hard, especially at bad times of the year (like now to late January). Read a few posts here and on other forums, and you'll see that Japan is swarming with teachers and wannabes nowadays. |

You could start by telling us something about you. Having interviewed with AEON, you probably have a bachelor's degree in something, but that's all we can surmise.
Also, when did you plan to come? It makes a huge difference.
Also, what kind of job do you want, and for how long did you expect to stay in Japan? Did you have any specific location in mind (or one that you'd prefer not working)?
Sorry for all the questions, but without answers, all we can say to someone in your situation is the basic stuff:
Peak hiring is in late February-March.
Conditions are competitive even at entry level, so arm yourself. |

The search function is about as useful as a 40 year old Lawnmower being used on astro turf. It'll work, sometimes quite well, but it really doesn't make much sense. |

Worked fine for me, wes. What did you find that was not particularly "useful"? |

It works well when it works, but often times doesn't work. As I said, around 90 - 95 % it does not work. |

I'm going to have to agree with Glenski on this one. The Dave's search function is really good and comes up with a number of related results even for 3-letter words.
"Search for any terms or use query as entered" is the option I always use. If you're looking in this forum (Japan) be sure to chose that from the forum drop-down list.
Display results as POSTS is often times better/more comprehensive, as you see your search term as it comes up in all posts, rather than just the thread topic/header.
Return ALL AVAILABLE characters of posts- as then you can see the ENTIRE post and find your search query highlighted within the whole of the post.
This method never fails for me, and I can always find information on what I need, so long as there is information out there in the first place. |

If you're having trouble with the search function, try googling:
Code: |
site:eslcafe.com "aeon interview" |
It brings up literally hundreds of hits. To filter it, try adding other search terms outside the quote marks. For example:
Code: |
site:eslcafe.com "aeon interview" process |
or
Code: |
site:eslcafe.com "aeon interview" process +questions |
The quote marks mean that the results should contain the exact phrase between them, the plus symbol means that the item following it must be contained in the search results.
Playing around with the search operators works when the search here does not. |
