What's the weather like in Barranquilla?

Is an air conditioner really necessary?

I'm somewhat accustomed to getting by with just a fan unless it's just unbearably hot. I spent 4 years in Vietnam, living in an apartment with just a fan and I'm also from Houston and it get's hot there too.

Thanks,
Art

I don't live in Barranquilla, but in a different city on the coast and a fan works just fine. It does get hot, but most people get by without air conditioning.

More than the heat, prepare yourself for the rain. The streets turn into rivers in Barranquilla when it rains...it carries the buses away occasionally.
