Isn't this rich? I got an unsolicited letter that reads as follows:

The salary is very attractive,accomodation and an official car with a driver will be given to the teahcer appointed for the job. the president will also assist with the airfare.

So I wrote back and got this a few days later:

So congratulation you have being accepted as one of the teacher that will teach the President 2 grandchildren. I spoke with the South African President yesterday on phone and i have inform him about you and the other teacher coming to teach his grandchildren,and he has agreed base on the report i gave him. so you will have to do a good job when you come over to South Afica.
And for the terms and conditions of the teaching job,the President is offering you a year contract that will start from 30th November,2010 and end by 30th of November,2011.if you perform very well then the job contract can be extended. the President will pay you US$12,500(Twelve thousand and five hundred US Dollars) Per month,and a house that will contain you and your family(Incase you are coming with them) will also be given to you,an official car too will be given to you to make the work easier,all this goodies are courtesy of the President just to make sure that you improve the English of his 2 grandchildren. You will also be teaching the kids for 5 hours per day(Mon-Fri),while saturday and sunday will be your off day.
You are to come over to South Africa on the 27th of November,2010 to sign the agreement,begin work and get paid. But before that you will have to Send the Information page of your passport via e-mail and pay an agent fee of US$1,000(One thousand US Dollars). the fee is for my assistance in helping you to get the job. i will also use part of the fee to get you your visa. you will have to pay this fee between today and this thursday(28th,October).
Then for the flight ticket for yourself and your family(i.e if you are coming with them),the President will give me funds to book and pay for your flight when your visa is ready.

I am going to write back and ask these scammers if they will lend me the $1000 and say I'll pay them $2000 after the first paycheck.
It would be great if a bunch of you guys and gals reading this would also send your CVs and then make similar deals. Let's drive Jane, or Robert or whoever it is nuts and show 'em not to mess with ESL teachers. |
