I'm going to be advising students who are completing their MA TESOL. Some have previous classroom teaching experience and some don't.

I'd be grateful for any info. about what this difference will mean in terms of job possibilities in Latin America.

HOnestly, in Peru, it probably won't help. They care if you have a work visa more than antying. I worked at UDEP with a BA and then USIL with an MA. UDEP in Piura got me a special volunteer diplomat visa. USIL wouldn't hire anyone who already didn't have a work visa.

That's odd, because unis in most countries have no problem with getting work permits for their teachers. Shows just how much regulations can vary from country to country!

Many thanks.

You don't happen to know someone called Roy Kesey, do you? He was teaching in Piura a few yars back but then I lost touch with him.
