PostPosted: Mon Jan 31, 2011 11:29 pm    Post subject: Lee Rose English Reply with quote

This post is regarding Lee Rose English, based in Ishinomaki, Miyagi, Japan.

I have been working for the school for almost two years, and have had an excellent experience so far with the company.

Surprising to me, though, is that apparently some previous employees had some terrible things to say about the company, and did so on a public forum on the internet.

The unfortunate thing is that said forum is the only thing that comes up with a Google search of the company name. Despite the fact that the post is now years old and concerns people and events that have no relevancy whatsoever with the company I know and work for, it still apparently turns away prospective employees.

The post I refer to makes the company seem troubled indeed. But I reiterate that the situation described therein bears no resemblance to what I have experienced for the last two years. I maintain that if the company resembled the heinous description posted, I would have bolted. The long list of jobs I have quit without a moment's hesitation backs me up on this. I don't stick around places I don't like.

But in fact, the owner and manager of the company have taken care of me as if I were family.

In an attempt to try to create a second 'search result' to balance out the first, I now quote a fellow current employee:

"I can't log on to Dave's ESL Cafe to post on that forum thread. Feel free to put this up on my behalf?

I have worked as an English instructor since August 1st, 2010 at Lee Rose English, aka IEES, associated with International Preschool Pinocchio etc, etc, and am posting voluntarily using my real name and can be contacted for further information at: artrolla at gmail dot com.

Everything that was offered prior to my accepting the position has been scrupulously fulfilled. The management and staff have at all times been cheerful, courteous, highly responsive, on occasion even gracious. Pay has been as punctual as the tides, including when it fell on my day off and was delivered unrequested to me at my apartment. Completely outside of regular duties I have also received kind support, like someone going with me to city hall just to fill out some kanji, as well as telephone help when my basic Japanese was not enough solo, like yesterday, twice: at a cell phone store and when a police officer came to my apartment requesting emergency contact information.

All of my adult students, about 25-30% of my classes, are highly motivated, a delight to share time with. Most of my younger classes are pleasurable, better than par if my previous four years English instructor experience, including one prior in Japan, is any indication. I design all of my classes.

I come from Boston, USA and find Ishinomaki provincial, but it punches a good deal above its class, lots of nature for example, awesome sushi, acrobatic jets outside my window to name a few. Just being in Japan is exotic and educational enough for me, but if club-like nightlife and big libraries are more your thing then this place aint for you.

If anything changes I will post again.

Art Rolla"

I add to his recommendation my own; my name is Leo Viche, and I can be reached at fecosbill at hotmail.
